Two Year Old Foal Futurity Rules
(Foals owned by members in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales
are all eligible to be entered in the Victorian Branch Futurity.)

Foals from ASSPS registered C, B, A & AA Group mares that are foal recorded or adult registered in the Stud Book and born between 1st August and 31st July maybe entered in this competition for the appropriate year. (ie: only C, B, A or AA Group Foals eligible).

then together, judge the combined selected entries to decide the Futurity winner.

Mares are first nominated for the Victorian Two Year Old Foal Futurity in the season that they are initially covered by the stallion. Several further payments are made until the resulting foal is a two year old. The Foal Futurity is then judged by a panel of judges at the Victorian Branch State Championship Show in the following February.
In 1998 it was decided by the Victorian Branch Committee that the Futurity would be renamed in order to honour one of the founding members of the Victorian Branch, the late Mr Max Marshall. The "Max Marshall Memorial Trophy" for the winner of the futurity was first awarded at the 1999 State Championship Show to "Corio Ultimate Viktor".
